What is Rockabilly Jive?

In the 1950s kids with parents from the swing era didn’t want to dance like their parents. This rebellious behavior was one of many reasons that drove teens during those days to find new dance variations and styles. The change in music, energy and rhythm of Rock n Roll music called for different styles of dancing that would fit the backbeat of rock n roll. The terminology varied just as much as the dance styles. You will encounter many terms such as Stroll, Bop, The Madison, Bunny Hop, The Twist, Boogie-Woogie, Rock n’ Roll, Jitterbug, etc.
