Class begins. Outside (Street) door closed & locked.
If you arrive late for class and the outside (street) door is locked, please follow the directions found on our main webpage to get in.

Lesson Description

Charleston Beginner (Level 1) :
Progressive partnered 1930’s Charleston dance lessons. Beginner (Level 1) will focus on providing you with enough material to successfully dance to medium and fast tempo jazz swing music. You will learn basic footwork patterns, methods of how to connect and maintain connection with your dance partner, and become comfortable traveling the dance floor with a partner in a face to face and side by side position. No experience or partner needed.

What is Charleston?

Charleston is part of the swing dance, originated in 1920’s and danced to various swing jazz music in solo or partnered. You can add and/or adapt some of these moves to Lindy Hop and Rockabilly for some cool styling!
