Description

Study Group-Practice :
Sometimes you want to social dance but other times you just want to practice and go over material you learned in class before your next class. This is study time for students to practice, figure out and ask an instructor or fellow dancer for help on class material being learned by the students. By practicing in between classes students can focus more on new material in the following class without having to mentally struggle with remembering the progress they had in the previous class. This is open to our students currently registered in classes and our students that are in between classes or workshops.
Additionally, if you are in the area and want to drop by to meet the East Side Six team and see what goes on in our dance classes before registering, feel free to come by and say hello.

Lesson Description

Charleston Beginner (Level 1) :
Progressive partnered 1930’s Charleston dance lessons. Beginner (Level 1) will focus on providing you with enough material to successfully dance to medium and fast tempo jazz swing music. You will learn basic footwork patterns, methods of how to connect and maintain connection with your dance partner, and become comfortable traveling the dance floor with a partner in a face to face and side by side position. No experience or partner needed.

What is Charleston?

Charleston is part of the swing dance, originated in 1920’s and danced to various swing jazz music in solo or partnered. You can add and/or adapt some of these moves to Lindy Hop and Rockabilly for some cool styling!
